Hi !
My name is Tom ROBETTE. I’m a French writer, passionate about imaginary fiction and worldbuilding for more than 10 years. In order to help my work, I have knowledge in many domains like astrophysics, linguistics, history, geology and more.
I learned how to worldbuild long before learning how to write books correctly, which was, I admit, the hard way. But now I can help others with their own work.
Now I master many genres with their own subgenres, especially Sci-fi (Hard-SF, Space-Opera, Cyberpunk, Biopunk, Science-Fantasy…) and Fantasy (Dark Fantasy, Medieval-Fantasy, Sword-&-Sorcery, Heroic Fantasy…). Of course, the real challenge is the subtle combinations of those.
As a Freelance, I would be happy to help you with your own project.
About my own work
I like writing novels and short stories using massive amounts of imagination and originality, but they embrace very grounded and dark realities. Is the evil dragon dying of cancer ? Are the super-spaceships of the Human-Imperium built with slave labor ? Have the holy priest-knights became a bunch of low-life mercenaries that kill for money ?
Breaking and desacralizing tropes and clichés is my specialty as well as a delicacy in my eyes. It is even more important to me, since it is the greatest way to disarticulate universal realities and to show the reader a new, fresh and sometimes shocking way. Because every single one of us humans tend to easily get used to both miracles and horrors.
